The countdown might be on for the end of summer, but that also means one of the most exciting events of the Australian calendar year is fast approaching to close it out with a bang.
On March 24th, the opening weekend of the Formula 1 tour will kick off at Melbourne’s Albert Park where fan favourite homeboy Daniel Ricciardo will look to better his disappointing start in 2017.
Despite now residing in Monaco, Dan grew up in the suburbs of Perth, spending the majority of his time away from the track in and out of the ocean at WA’s best beaches. A swimwear collaboration with luxury Aussie outfitters Orlebar Brown, then, couldn’t have been better suited for the racing star.
“I was inspired by places I’ve travelled mostly—they’ve left me with great memories. I live for the summer and it makes me happy on so many levels, so my swim shorts are genuinely some of my greatest pieces of clothing.”
The designs, Dan explains, is a reflection of his favourite places around the globe (aside from Australia, naturally), including Austin and Monaco.
The photographic swim shorts are illustrated with inspirations and interests from the honey badger to tessellated graphics of the Bulldog Pin-Up, reminiscent of vintage Americana.
Available for a limited run online and in-store, Dan’s signature Orlebar Brown shorts launch on March 20th.
