For most of us, Wednesday is the purgatory between weekends, but this Wednesday is different. Today at 2 PM Sydney time, Italian luxury fashion powerhouse Gucci will unveil the Gucci Love Parade collection, with a retro Hollywood theme.
Don’t worry if you’re stuck in the office (obviously, you’d rather be at the launch of a Gucci collection), because the entire event will be streamed live on YouTube, hosted by the one and only Alessandro Michele. For more than half a decade, Michele has been the driving force behind Gucci as the Creative Director of the brand, a fashion house he has called home for nearly twenty years.

The Gucci Love Parade collection is the second collection offered by the brand so far this year, which also happens to be the 100th anniversary of Gucci. With appropriate aplomb, the collection will be presented as a live show, beamed directly from Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
The event isn’t exclusively about fashion, however, with the show forming a part of Gucci’s Changemakers program, which offers support to causes such as mental health, homelessness and youth culture in LA. The program is run by the Gucci Equilibrium, a recently launched organisation whose mission statement is, “to generate positive change for people and our planet.”
