Mads Mikkelsen Brings The Heat To ZEGNA’s Airy, Linen-Focused SS24 Campaign

Often characterised as one of Hollywood’s favourite European antagonists, Mads Mikkelsen certainly looked the part in Casino Royale: the 2006 Bond flick, in which he played the blood-weeping, Brioni-tux-wearing villain Le Chiffre.

Now, in the latest campaign for ZEGNA, Mikkelsen has gotten the opportunity to show a bit more sartorial range: sporting a range of sophisticated tonal fits in a lookbook entitled ‘ZEGNA in Summer’.

Focused around the Italian fashion house’s high-performance ‘Oasi Lino’ collection (expertly timed, considering the arrival of European summer), the theme here appears to be freedom and fluidity: exemplified in the clean lines and neutral palette of Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori’s tailoring.

A significant practical aspect of the Oasi Lino collection highlighted in the campaign is its commitment to sustainability. Accordingly ZEGNA has pledged that all of the garments in this new campaign made of flax fibres will certified 100% traceable from 2024. That commitment is part of the brand’s broader ‘Road to Traceability’ initiative, which underscores its commitment to making the Zegna universe a wholly sustainable one.

Over the last century or so, the Oasi Zegna nature preserve has been reforested with more than half a million trees; creating a thriving, biodiverse ecosystem that embodies the brand’s values. (This despite the fact that the Piedmontese preserve was only launched officially in 1993; and now protects around 100km² of natural alpine territory.)
