While golf can elicit some of the most incensed blind rages that you’re likely to see on any sporting course, it is, at its core, a gentleman’s game. The London-based golf clothing label Manors seeks to celebrate this element of golfing culture with their latest retro-inspired collection of knitted shirts and woollen caps.
Launched as a part of the brand’s Pre-Fall 2021 release, the knitted polo shirt is a thoughtfully considered garment that gets the details right. In fact, if you were looking for a quintessential example of what a mid-weight classic polo should be, this is it.
Complete with a generously proportioned three-button collar, which even Gianni Agnelli would be proud to pull over his shoulders, the shirts are made entirely from mid-weight cotton. The breathable material is perfect playing textile, no matter the temperature when you teeing off, also featuring a subtle breast pocket and embroidered Manors logo. Available in green, light-blue and a warm cream tone, there’s something for everyone.

Arriving at the new Manors golf caps, and their construction is predominantly wool. Cut to the style of a low-profile baseball cap from an age gone by, they are completed with a boldly embroidered capital M at the front. Adjusted with a leather strap at the rear, the caps are available in either green, navy blue or a fine black and white houndstooth pattern.
This collection from Manors also includes a range of hoodies, pleated trousers and shorts, vests, cardigans and more, all of which are made with golf in mind. It’s refreshing to see a brand take a sporting attire that typically focuses on material performance, and blends the contemporary with some revived old-world charm. They aren’t rewriting the dress code, but Manors is certainly highlighting the best parts.
The polos are priced at £80 (AU$149), while the woollen caps will set you back £40 (AU$74).
