The forests of the Engadin Valley near St Moritz are typically home to red deer and foxes, but most recently, it was the backdrop for the first Moncler Grenoble show (presenting the brand’s A/W 2024 collection). A fusion of luxury and performance, it was no accident that Moncler’s sub-brand — adjacent to the collaborative Moncler Genius sub-brand — chose the ski spot of the 1% to debut the range.
As one of the more easily recognisable brands in St Moritz, Moncler is a favourite of the mountain’s winter visitors; just as St Moritz is a favourite destination for Moncler’s chairman and CEO, Remo Ruffini. Against the dramatic setting of the snow-covered forest floor, the 91-piece collection was launched before an enthusiastic audience that included the likes of Anne Hathaway and Kate Moss.
The collection was a comprehensive one with neutral tones spotted throughout the range, including off-white quilted and insulated outer gear, as well as panelled weather-proof ski and snowboarding garments. Enormous brown and tan-toned faux-fur yeti boots and jackets made a statement, while there was also a solid line-up of intarsia-knit jumpers and shearling pieces.
As you might expect, the range of accessories was just as top-notch, with Moncler-branded ski goggles, skis, and helmets complementing the rest of the collection.
“Harnessing enduring research and fearless experimentation, fueled by a passion for performance and the great outdoors, Moncler Grenoble merges technical prowess with high style in an expansive offer that covers all aspects of mountain life, all year round,” Moncler explained in a statement.
“The new collection is a gathering and mingling of different worlds, overcoming technical challenges and fostering an idea of winter style that is confident in its elegance and sophistication.”
The entire Moncler Grenoble A/W 2024 collection is scheduled to hit a boutique near you soon.
