Luxury online retailer Mr Porter have, under in-house line Mr P., launched their very first golf collection consisting of 23 pieces from tops and bottoms, to shoes and hats. And it’s clear the designers have a distinct love of old-school fairway flexing, recalling touches of Ivy League with varsity lettering and racing stripes across all clothing, accessories, and footwear.
Clubhouse classic preppy silhouettes have been incorporated with Mr P.’s signatures, striking a nice balance between golfing essentials and Mr Porter’s elevated sense of style. Golf heritage is key, but equally important has been Mr P.’s design language, which has been described as favouring “easy pieces, smart details, enduring style, and the utmost quality of craftsmanship.”
Best of all is that the Mr Porter golf collection is tight but still comprehensive enough to examine the entire golfer’s uniform, catering for styles you can wear both on and off the course. Even people who aren’t regularly playing golf would be wise to do a double take. As Mr Porter’s very first purpose-made sports collection, the designers have done a fantastic job at ensuring that these pieces are something just as suited for everyday wear.

The characteristically high-end take on polo shirts and twill chinos reiterate Mr P. as a go-to label for long-lasting premium wear with balance. That is, a perfect sense for both tradition and originality, seen in every one of these pieces from the branded Cabretta leather glove through to the jersey jackets and leather kiltie derby shoes.
All pieces have been designed with high-welfare animal materials and 100 per cent of the net profits sold from the collection, between May 24 and June 6, will go straight to Mr Porter’s dedicated Health In Mind Fund, in collaboration with Movember.
The Mr Porter golf collection is mostly made up of reasonably priced pieces, with the most expensive being the GBP $295 (AU$536) harrington jacket, available in beige. Other standouts include a striped cotton polo retailing for GBP $165 (AU$300) and a cotton jersey golf jacket also priced at GBP $165 (AU$300).
