The intersection between motorsport and fashion is one that’s been well-documented over the years. Though the synergy has arguably never been greater — nor more elevated — than right here and right now with Tommy Hilfiger‘s limited edition Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team collection.

Not only has the collaboration enlisted the talents of New York City-based multihyphenate creative Clarence Ruth, but also been modelled by F1’s reigning GOAT (and renowned style icon in his own right) Sir Lewis Hamilton — who, as fans may recall, publicly repped the set alongside rising Mercedes F1 star George Russell during the 2024 Barcelona Grand Prix weekend.

This innovative 10-piece capsule, which has simultaneously been infused with heritage and “the future,” entails pieces ranging from colour-blocked varsity jackets ($999); to embroidered chino pants ($349) and football jerseys ($249) featuring the seven-time world champion and his teammate’s racing numbers.

A care label-inspired print resembling the dashboard of an F1 car slapped onto a t-shirt ($149) is yet another standout addition; while the all-new ice-hockey jersey ($399) and rugby cardigan ($499) remains our favourite from the “fashion-meets-sports” silhouettes lineup.

Each article of clothing from the Clarence Ruth-designed collection sports logos from Tommy Hilfiger, Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, as well as Ruth’s own fashion label Cotte D’Armes.

“Designing this collection challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and think more
creatively,” said Clarence Ruth.

“I usually design tailored pieces, so with sports being at the base of this collection, I had to think a little more outside the box.”
