  • The third collaboration between UNIQLO and White Mountaineering, we’ve got a capsule collection of robust and sustainable outerwear, built for everyday.
  • This technical outerwear uses recycled down, hitting the usual UNIQLO sweet spot: affordable, functional, and surprisingly stylish.
  • The collaboration is currently available online and from UNIQLO stores, arriving with an Australian RRP of $130.

Everyone’s favourite Japanese giant UNIQLO has announced its third link-up with cult Japanese label White Mountaineering – this time, with a strong focus on sustainability. Hitting stores today, the capsule is the latest instalment in a series defined by clever design, technical fabrics, and broad appeal across age and gender.

True to White Mountaineering’s philosophy – “All fields for wearing clothes are outdoors” – the collection leans into function without compromising form. The Recycled Hybrid Down Jacket features recycled down and padding that have been thoughtfully applied across the surface of the garment, finished in a distinctive gradient diamond quilt pattern that walks the line between utilitarian and stylish.

Durability and comfort are both front of mind for the team of designers that brought this capsule to life. Each piece – available in wine, olive, or black colours – is cut with a three-dimensional silhouette that encourages freedom of movement, paired with large-capacity pockets and a water-repellent finish suited for light rain. These are clothes designed to be lived in—on city streets, on trails, and everywhere in between.

At the heart of the project is RE.UNIQLO, the brand’s global circularity initiative. By recycling used garments and reintegrating them into new designs, UNIQLO is making steady moves toward a more sustainable fashion ecosystem, with this Recycled Hybrid Down Jacket being a direct result of this mission, showcasing the potential of clothing-to-clothing recycling.

For fans of Japanese fashion, creative direction comes from White Mountaineering founder Yosuke Aizawa, who’s become a staple at Paris Fashion Week and brings a degree of quiet authority to the collection. Aizawa’s work has always reflected a respect for technical precision and natural elements – traits echoed in this new collaboration.

Available in all UNIQLO stores and online from today, this drop offers a timely reminder that innovation and sustainability don’t have to exist in opposition – they can look pretty sharp together.
