Despite being one of the world’s busiest people, Elon Musk has found time in his packed schedule to launch his very own new fragrance called Burnt Hair, which the billionaire has described as “the finest fragrance on Earth!” Currently available via Musk’s The Boring Company (which he used to sell his improbably famous flame thrower), the perfume is reportedly selling very well, with more than 20,000 bottles already spoken for.

It’s no surprise that Burnt Hair has sent Musk’s fans into an enthusiastic buying frenzy after the Tesla CEO tweeted out to his 109 million followers a request that read, “Please buy my perfume, so I can buy Twitter.” This is of course in reference to the billionaire’s renewed bid to purchase the social media company for US$54.20 (AU$83.32) per share – or half a bottle of Burnt Hair – in a deal that Musk attempted to withdraw from a few months back.

To celebrate his latest product, Musk has also appropriately updated his Twitter bio to read simply “Perfume Salesman,” adding another job title to his extensive CV. It might be his first role in decades that isn’t focused on technology, but given his surname, it’s the most appropriate job yet.

While there’s no detail as to exactly what you can expect Burnt Hair to smell like, The Boring Company website describes the aroma as, “The Essence of Repugnant Desire,” going on to explain that it’s “just like leaning over a candle at the dinner table, but without all the hard work.” Those interested in picking up a bottle of Burnt Hair can also expect to “stand out in a crowd! Get noticed as you walk through the airport.”

With 20,000 bottles of the $164 fragrance already sold, Elon Musk anticipates shipping Burnt Hair in the first quarter of 2023. So if you’ve been harbouring a quiet curiosity as to what Elon’s musk might offer, head to the site below.
