Described as an invitation to follow the maison’s master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud around the globe in his “search for exceptional ingredients,” this is a sumptuous 400-page exploration of the raw materials that have inspired Louis Vuitton’s fragrances.
Each page unfolds Louis Vuitton’s “secrets” to harvesting, extracting, blending, and distilling the 45 ingredients at the centrepiece of its “olfactory universe” — from the Rose de Mai of France’s Grasse (the global perfume capital and the oud Assam of Bangladesh to the bergamot of Calabria.

A Perfume Atlas features words by author Lionel Paillès, illustrations by Aurore de la Morinerie, photography accomplished by Sébastien Zanella, and for those of you who opt to purchase the limited-edition box set, US$5,000 worth of scents (AU$280 for the book alone) — each one of these 45 vials meticulously organised and housed within a Louis Vuitton coffret.
