Birkenstock have stepped up their game, uniting with Japanese brand BEAMS for a collaboration you’ll want to hear about. The brief? Giving the OG Birkenstock Arizona Sandals something of a refresh… in suede. With a killer feel that balances comfy and luxe, they’re the perfect pair of house shoes to lounge around in during the lockdown months.
For those who don’t know, Tokyo based brand BEAMS has been pushing the envelope in terms of brand collaborations for a number of years now. In this year alone, they worked up quite the CV by coming together and collaborating with the likes of Ziploc, Columbia and Fred Perry – providing a fresh twist on a number of classic looks each time.
Coming in two monochromatic options of “Grey” and “Taupe”, both revised Birkenstock Arizona Sandals feature a suede upper and footbed with matching buckles for the complete block colour look. Much like the adidas’ velvet slides, the option is a cosy wrap of the classic Birkenstock silhouette with branding where you’d expect.
The Birkenstock & BEAMS Arizona Sandals are currently available online from the BEAMS store in Japan for ¥20,900 a pair (AU$315.57).
