Adidas x Ronnie Fieg x Clarks Originals 8th Street Samba
This isn’t the first time that KITH founder Ronny Fieg has linked up with either Clarks or adidas, but the Adidas x Ronnie Fieg x Clarks Originals 8th Street Samba collection is the debut partnership between the trio. Eagle-eyed sneakerheads might have spotted a few conspicuously thick-soled Sambas in the KITH Spring 2023 lookbook, but now we’ve got all the details of these crepe-soled sneakers that have been made available in white, black and beige colourways.
Tiffany & Co. x Nike Air Force 1 1837 “Friends & Family”
Despite the star power potential of a collaboration between the two giants in their respective industries, the original Tiffany & Co Nike AF1 shoe didn’t satisfy the crowds, eliciting criticism from every angle. In a course correction that, unfortunately, isn’t publicly available but looks a whole lot better, the two titans of American industry have announced another colourway that’s effectively the inverse of the original and is only available to friends and family of the brands. Will it see a wider release? We can only hope.
New Balance 1906R Vintage Suede
First released as an obscure range within the New Balance collection emulating the gauche fashions of the 2000s, the 1906R has become an icon in its own right following a host of high-profile collaborations with the likes of Auralee and Comme des Garcons. It’s now available thanks to a fresh drop via New Balance Australia, releasing a ‘Protection Pack’ range available in a quartet of different colourways resplendent with vintage-style suede uppers and hefty sole units.
Etymology Ito Penny Loafer – Brown Suede
Now, obviously, these aren’t sneakers, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t know about the young homegrown brand Etymology that has just announced a quartet of debut “post-sneaker” styles. My personal favourite from the bunch is the Ito Penny Loafer in brown suede, which fuses comfort with an everyday casual class that could be worn from the office to Sunday brunch and most spots in between. Made in the Spanish township of Almansa, it’s an enticing new offering to consider for your next pair of footwear.
New Balance 550 “Hemp”
Easily one of the most successful new silhouettes to leave the New Balance design studio, the mid-height 550 arrives in its latest iteration with uppers crafted from airy hemp. Forgoing the classic leather you’ve no doubt seen around town before, it gives the thoroughly sporty shoe a more natural, everyday presence that despite looking frighteningly porous (keep your red wine in its glass while wearing these), adds a great new angle to the design.
