Hot on the heels of a number of knockout footwear collaborations with the good folks at New Balance, Casablanca is back at it again with the launch of its very own debut Atlantis sneaker. Named after the ancient city said to be lost beneath the ocean waves, the Atlantis incorporates aquatic elements into the Parisian brand’s distinct fusion of sporty design codes and luxurious materials.
Despite only being founded in 2018, Casablanca has already earned itself a spot at the high table of contemporary fashion labels making clothes for a well-lived lifestyle, combining the nostalgic elements of decades gone by with a level of hype that is necessarily grounded in the present moment. Casablanca’s relative youth hasn’t slowed its meteoric rise into the consciousness of fashion’s intelligentsia and the world’s wealthiest, spotted on everyone from Jeff Bezos and French Montana, to Draymond Green and Justin Beiber.
While the New Balance x Casablanca XC-72’s released last year sold out almost immediately, fans haven’t had to wait long for the brand to drop a sneaker with its own name on it. Set to be available in both red and blue colourways, the Atlantis features perforated leather and suede uppers that reference the design of classic tennis shoes, but the midsole is where the real action is.

Featuring a wave-like EVA foam midsole unit that makes an unmissable statement, the shape speaks to its Atlantis name and is capped off with a roughly corrugated rubber outsole. The debut sneaker was first spotted in Casablanca’s Fall/Winter 2022 lookbook, with design input from both founder Charaf Tajer and art director Steve Grimes.
While the Atlantis might make too strong of a statement for some, the new kicks perfectly blend the sporty sophistication that Casablanca is known for, offering a chic take on the tried and true chunky sneaker. While there’s no confirmed pricing from Casablanca yet, you can expect to pay a pretty penny to cop some for yourself.
