If the last two years have proven anything, it’s that KITH is one of the strongest collaborators on the planet. Following the brand’s primo partnerships with the likes of Colombia PFG and Adidas (twice) — as well as campaigns starring Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, and Adrian Brody — KITH has tapped Birkenstock for the new Braided London capsule collection.
This is one of the first Birkenstock collaborations to hit newsstands since the brand went public via IPO, and the German shoemaker certainly hasn’t missed. The veil was first lifted by KITH founder Ronnie Fieg on Instagram, showcasing the three colourways within the collection; including black, brown and tan.
Each of the shoes features a soft suede construction, with the top section of the upper connected to the wrapping lower section with an interwoven or braided leather element. With a choice of classic cork and shearling footbeds, the somewhat unusual silhouette has left a few scratching their heads as to whether this is a winter or summer shoe, but I’d be happy to split the middle and leave it at “trans-seasonal”.
There’s no word on pricing yet, however, it’s understood the KITH x Birkenstock Braided London capsule collection will be available on KITH’s site on the 1st of December.
