Ahead of the 2019 Open Championship in Northern Ireland this week, global fashion powerhouses Nike and Stone Island have collaborated for a limited technical golf capsule.
The two-piece collection includes both a jacket and crewneck that match Nike’s performance capabilities with Stone Island’s heritage innovative fabrics.
Weather-resistant textiles and adaptive fibres help control body temperature, and various pockets include a practical application for holding the likes of golf balls, tees and gloves.
“We wanted to focus on outerwear. As experts in creating a product that performs as well as it looks, Stone Island was a natural partner in finding the best solutions,” quoted Kelly Tweeden, VP and Creative Director of Golf, Tennis and Skateboarding at Nike.
Stone Island creative top dog Carlo Rivetti went on to say that “working on garments with Nike Golf gave us the opportunity to create true technical and performing pieces. It is the first time for Stone Island on the field of play, in one of the noblest sports in the world.”
Slated for an international debut at the Open at Royal Portrush taking place from July 18-21, the Stone Island x Nike technical golf capsule will release globally on July 25.
