Capitalising on its growing mainstream success, Salomon has released a number of fresh silhouettes in recent months including the Index.01 and more recently in the ACS + OG. There’s no rest for the wickedly popular and this week Salomon has announced another new design in collaboration with the Copenhagen-based fashion label Wood Wood, dropping the XT-SLATE in a pair of colourways.
After first being spotted on the feet of models at Wood Wood’s FW23 runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week at the start of this month, the trail-ready XT-SLATE has arrived to the public in a choice of descriptively named colourways Black/kelp/nightshade and Black coffee/biking red/quiet. Featuring structured mesh uppers, a speedy quick lace fastening system and the kind of ruggedly comfortable midsoles we’ve come to expect from Salomon, the XT-SLATE is sure to be a hit.
If you do decide to take these out on a hiking trail instead of simply pounding the city pavements, Salomon’s proprietary Advanced Chassis System will keep your ankles secure across uneven surfaces while the Contagrip outsole aims to perform regardless of the conditions. The first colourway of the Wood Wood x Salomon XT-SLATE collaboration is currently available, while the Black coffee/biking red/quiet version is set to drop on the 13th of this month.
