There are only a few brands that are able to consistently create exciting collaborations and Todd Synder is up there with the very best of them. Following up on its latest link-ups with the teams at Timex and New Balance, Todd Snyder has just announced its fresh capsule collection with Vans inspired by the classic Dirty Martini cocktail.
There’s nothing quite like a well-mixed Dirty Martini after a long week at the office, with a touch of brine cutting through the gin (or vodka) like a knife through butter and the extra olives giving you something to chew on as you ponder the week that was. While the Negroni continues to enjoy its decade in the spotlight, a Dirty Martini is an unexpected source of inspiration for the partnership folks at Vans and Todd Snyder but it’s one that works very well in the way they’ve gone about it.
Arriving with both the classic lace-up and slip-on silhouettes from Vans, the uppers are constructed from dark olive green vegetable-tanned suede and contrast nicely against the white midsoles, heel tabs and laces. The detail that really locks in what these Vans are inspired by is the soft orange lace caps, which immediately bring to mind the pimento garnish that a Dirty Martini could arrive with. If you’re a fan of Dirty Martinis, either of these would make the perfect shoe for a Friday knock-off.
