Without a doubt, the most polarising release of SIHH 2019 was the Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 and despite their entire brand presentation focused on that release, alongside the fantastical Sapphire Orbe, it was the humble Royal Oak that the punters flocked to, none more so than the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo โExtra Thinโ Ref.15202BC.
Arriving in a 39mm (the absolute sweet spot for the Royal Oak) white gold case and bracelet the Audemars Piguetโs Royal Oak โJumboโ Extra-Thin (sitting just 8mm above the wrist) Ref.15202BC is as elegant and understated as they come, personified by its handsome pink โgold toneโ coloured dial.
The โSalmon dialโ, as it was aptly named at SIHH 2019, receives matching white gold hands and indices and houses APโs Cal. 2121 with a 40-hour power reserve. Under different light, the dial appears to morph from yellow to brown and towards a subtle goldy pink hue. Itโs a beauty to observe and even nicer to wear, gracing the wrist with a wonderful weight, without being at all ostentatious like itโs yellow gold cousin.
The 75 unit limited edition boutique only release will retail at โฌ56,000 and will be sold out before you can pick up the phone. Check it out at Audemars Piguet.
