Featuring a stainless steel case and bracelet this Casio G-Steel GM2110D-4A is even more hard-wearing and dynamic, all while maintaining the same ultra-wearable proportions.
At just 11.8mm thick, it’s the slimmest G-SHOCK combo model yet, proving that toughness doesn’t have to mean bulk. The Casio F91W-1 is to timepieces what the Macintosh was to personal computing, the Post-it Note was to office organisation, and the Sony Walkman was to music. Apart from the Apple Watch, it’s the best-selling timepiece in history and it’s not hard to see why.
Designed by Ryūsuke Moriai and debuted in 1989, it remains largely unchanged more than three decades later, offering users all of the functionality of a digital watch in a pared-back, no-nonsense form.
For $60, you’re getting the time, an alarm, and a stopwatch, all of which can be read in the dark thanks to its illuminable dial. If all you want is a watch, devoid of gimmicks you’ll never use, it’s arguably the best-value play on the market.

Despite its streamlined build, it still packs a punch: a two-part metal bezel, 200m water resistance, Bluetooth connectivity, world time for 38 cities, five alarms, and a stopwatch for when you’re feeling competitive. Casio AE1200WHD-1A

- Case Material: Resin
- Bezel Material: Resin
- Bracelet/Strap Material: Stainless Steel
- Dial Colour: Black

For some reason, this Casio AE1200WHD-1A enjoys the nickname “Casino Royale” as it closely resembles the Seiko G757 that Roger Moore wore in the 1983 film Octopussy, despite it neither being the same watch nor affiliated with the movie for which it’s named. The reasoning? I’d love to know.
Regardless of its dubious moniker, there’s plenty to love here, from the stainless steel bracelet and case to the world map on the dial to tell you which timezone you’re in. It’s also got 100m of water resistance and a genuinely affordable price tag, cementing its status as another fan-favourite among Casio collectors.
Casio MR-G MRGB5000BA-1D

- Bezel Material: Cobarion

Last, but certainly not least, is the 800-pound gorilla in this list of the best Casio watches: the Casio MR-G MRGB5000BA-1D. This is what you get when you take a classic G-Shock design, craft it from rare and expensive materials and pack it full of so many features you’ll need to carry the user manual in your pocket to keep track of everything.
The bezel (comprising 25 individual parts) is made from cobarion, a cobalt-chrome alloy four times harder than titanium, while the case is crafted using Ti64 super-hard titanium. When G-Shock designers are given the green light to create without limits, they don’t hold back, which is why the bracelet is made from a different kind of titanium – DAT55G, which is three times tougher than the pure stuff.
From across the room, this MR-G might look like any old G-Shock, but up close you’ll notice the case features a blue ion plating and black diamond-like carbon coating, a nod to ink wash painting and calligraphy. The classic brick pattern keeps the heritage intact, while modern tech – including radio-controlled calibration and Bluetooth pairing – ensures this work of art is as smart as it is tough.
