Though we traditionally think of Switzerland as the spiritual home of mechanical watchmaking, at the turn of the 20th century, the USA was angling (quite successfully too) to take that crown.
From this era, defined by the popularity of the pocket watch, Hamilton was most certainly one of the best and most commercially successful brands ā known for its legendary field watches, chronographs, and funky designs. Elvis Presley was a confirmed fan.
Despite the company’s origins in Pennsylvania, Hamilton watches are now manufactured in the Swiss motherland. (The company has been a subsidiary of Omega owner Swatch Group, since 1984.) While the Khaki collection remains a firm favourite among vintage design lovers, you’ll almost certainly have spotted other Hamilton watches prominently featured in Hollywood blockbusters like Interstellar, Dune: Part 2, and Tenet.
Considering adding a Hamilton to the collection? Check out all of our BH-approved pieces from the brand’s current catalogue.
