  • In celebration of Breguet’s 250th anniversary, the watchmaker has announced the Breguet Classique Souscription reference 2025.
  • Featuring a single hand and an enamel dial, this new release is a faithful wristwatch reinterpretation of Abraham-Louis Breguet’s historic souscription pocket watch.
  • The Breguet Classique Souscription 2025 is domestically priced at $78,000 and will join the brand’s permanent collection.

In a year marked by a colossal quarter-millennium milestone, Breguet has officially kicked off the festivities with a quietly spectacular release: the Breguet Classique Souscription 2025. And true to form, it’s far more about substance than spectacle.

Rather than offering up some maximalist showpiece, Breguet has mined the archives; paying homage to the simple but revolutionary souscription pocket watches conceived by Abraham-Louis Breguet shortly after he established his workshop back in 1775. The new wrist-worn interpretation blends the spirit of these historic pieces with subtle modern upgrades for something that feels both antique and fresh.

Breguet Classique Souscription 2025

The Classique Souscription 2025 arrives in a 40mm case that’s 10.8mm thick, crafted from a new proprietary alloy dubbed “Breguet Gold” – a muted, stable alloy enriched with silver, copper, and palladium.

The traditional design decisions also appear in the form of a white grand feu enamel dial featuring crisp Breguet numerals, single flame-blued steel hand, and charming secret signature at six o’clock that’s hand-engraved using a classic diamond-point pantograph. Perhaps the only detail missing is the brand’s quintessential coin-edge case flanks.

Turn it over, and the tributes continue. Inside sits the new calibre VS00: a beautifully structured hand-wound movement built around a large central ratchet and triangular bridges, echoing the layouts of the original souscription watches (and more recently, the Tradition collection).

Contemporary touches include a Nivachron balance spring, a healthy 96-hour power reserve, and anti-shock protection paired with a navy blue alligator leather strap. It’s presented in a red leather box, a nod to the archival Moroccan leather cases originally used by Breguet.

Importantly, the Breguet Classique Souscription 2025 isn’t a limited edition, joining the permanent collection in a decision that feels fitting for a piece so deeply tied to the brand’s history. A masterclass in restraint, craftsmanship, and quiet innovation that’s authentically Breguet.

Here in Australia, the Breguet Classique Souscription 2025 comes with a $78,000 price tag and is currently available from official boutiques.
