Today Swiss watchmaker Rado has announced that Australian cricket sensation Cam Green will join the brand as an ambassador.

The formidable all-rounder has enjoyed a regular spot on the Australian team since his debut in a One Day International (ODI) game against India in late 2020, with his test cricket debut coming just several weeks later. In late 2022, he made history inking the most expensive Indian Premier League deal ever paid for an Australian, and in March 2024, silenced doubters with a stunning 174 not out to lead Australia to victory over the Black Caps.

“We are thrilled to see Cameron Green join the Rado family,” said Rado CEO Adrian Bosshard in a statement. “His quest for excellence in every aspect of this great sport aligns seamlessly with Rado’s pursuits in the world of watchmaking. We look forward to this journey of conquering new territory together, both on and off the cricket pitch.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, given Cam’s surname, the watch he’s picked out to wear is the Rado Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton in matte green ceramic. Paired with a comfortable rubber strap in the same tone, this particular reference features a 43mm case and enjoys a superbly sporty 300m depth rating.

“Rado’s creativity and innovation were definitely key draws to me,” says Cam Green about the new partnership. “In cricket, you need to continuously improve and adapt to stay at the top of the game – and that’s what I see from Rado.”

“Watchmaking and cricket have more in common than you might think,” Green continued. “Rado’s precision, attention to detail and passion resonate with me and as I learn more about the brand, I’m also drawn to its design heritage and its innovation.”

If you’re a fan of Green’s, we’ve got good news for you: he’s about to be spotted around town a whole lot more, as Rado confirms he’ll be the face of plenty of upcoming media campaigns. Stay tuned.
