At the 2018 Football World Cup in Russia, Hublot presented their first connected watch – the Big Bang Referee 2018 FIFA World Cup – equipped with the most advanced tech available at the time for wearables.

Two years later, Hublot has returned with a new connected watch; the Hublot Big Bang E, combining unmistakable Big Bang aesthetic with cutting edge materials, smartwatch connectivity and the latest digital innovations.

Hublot Big Bang E Titanium And Ceramic

The Hublot Big Bang E will arrive in a modestly sized 42mm ‘sandwich’ style case of titanium or ceramic on a rubber strap with deployment buckle. The hour numerals adorning the bezel are metallised underneath the scratchproof sapphire crystal, which is covered with an AMOLED high definition touchscreen.

Paying homage to the mechanical Big Bang, the rotary crown with integrated pusher is used to activate the controls for the watch’s electronic module – the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 (which also powers the TAG Heuer Modular 45 Golf Edition), running Wear OS by Google. Apart from the ‘time only’ analogue function, the Hublot Big Bang E features digital interpretations of traditional watch complications, such as a Perpetual Calendar with precise moon phase or a highly visual GMT function.

In addition to Play store apps, phone connectivity and simplified payments, custom dials created by Hublot ambassadors and championing the brand’s affiliation with the arts, will be gradually unveiled to wearers.

Marc Ferrero designed dial.

Despite its digitalised heart, the Big Bang E sports 30m of water resistance. It is supported by a battery life quoted at “around 1 day”, with 2 hours 30 minutes required to charge the unit from empty.

Hublot Big Bang E Caseback

The Hublot Big Bang E is available publically from June 15 and retails for AU$7,200 in Titanium (Ref. 440.NX.1100.RX) and AU$8,100 in Ceramic (Ref. 440.CI.1100.RX)
