The hype generated by the Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch collaboration was, in a word, unprecedented. And today, the two watchmakers have launched (without exaggeration) what could be its greatest edition yet: the MoonSwatch Mission To The Moonphase — featuring the playful addition of a Snoopy-themed moonphase window, as well as a cute Easter egg that comes to life when the sun goes down.

In 2022, a significant portion of the success of the Swiss watch industry was directly tied to the MoonSwatch collaboration; with StockX estimating more than $20 million spent on the collection, as well as a resulting spike in Omega Speedmaster sales. Despite the steady stream of fresh special edition MoonSwatch references that have come since the initial release, the white-hot intensity of interest has dipped. Until now.

Following a handful of teasers, the Mission To The Moonphase arrives in a striking all-white package that includes the case, strap, and dial. It flaunts the same dimensions as previous models within the collection — 42mm in diameter; 13.25mm in thickness — but the stand-out detail is undoubtedly the Peanuts comic strip Snoopy featured on the 3 o’clock subdial.

Reminiscent of the 2015 Omega Speedmaster Apollo 13 “Silver Snoopy,” the subdial replaces the 1/10th of a second chronograph register with a moonphase indicator that tracks the phases of our nearest celestial body. And written in white luminescent paint is the quote “I can’t sleep without a night light!”; referencing the 2015 model that read “Failure is not an option.”

It’s a fun, whimsical entry to the collection, and as we’ve previously stated, one that’s arguably the best MoonSwatch release so far. The Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch Mission To The Moonphase will set you back $500 — exclusively available to purchase from specific Swatch boutiques in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.
