In an industry dominated by companies that were founded one or even two centuries ago, Hublot remains one of horology’s youngest and most provocative brands. Among its most popular collections, the Big Bang range has had an outsized impact on luxury watches and this year, Hublot is celebrating its 20th anniversary with new watches showcasing the limitless versatility of the now-famous design.

In addition to a collection of new limited-edition Big Bang watches, Hublot will also debut two remarkable collector’s sets at Watches & Wonders 2025, which present both the brand’s cutting-edge material innovation and its prowess in crafting complicated timepieces. From ceramic cases to Cathedral minute repeater movements, the novelties launching in 2025 have it all.

Highlights From The 2025 Hublot Collection

Hublot Big Bang & Big Bang Unico 20th Anniversary Limited Editions

The influence of the Big Bang – developed by industry legend and former Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver – shouldn’t be underestimated. It’s a design that’s been expressed in countless forms and worn by most of your favourite celebrities, and to celebrate its 20th anniversary, Hublot has announced five different limited edition references that each represent a different part of the collection’s history.

All five references feature the same case dimensions (43mm in diameter and 13.3mm thick), the same 100m of water resistance, and the same column-wheel-equipped MHUB1280.20 flyback chronograph movement with 72 hours of power reserve. However, that’s where the similarities end.

In a nod to the original “art of fusion” philosophy, which looked to combine incongruous and original materials in watchmaking, Hublot has launched two references in titanium ceramic and King Gold ceramic (limited to 500 and 250 pieces, respectively). While you’re certainly familiar with the properties of titanium, King Gold is Hublot’s version of red gold, featuring a healthy dose of platinum in the alloy. Both case materials are contrasted by black ceramic bezels.

Ceramic has been a key material in Hublot’s story, and in 2018, the brand debuted its first intensely-coloured, full-ceramic watch case. That watch will be celebrated in 2025 by this Big Bang Red Magic (limited to 100 pieces), arriving in a vibrant shade of scarlet and featuring a carbon-motif-patterned dial. Another new watch where colour plays a critical role in wrist presence is the Big Bang All Black (limited to 500 pieces), which is simply impossible to ignore on the wrist.

The final limited-edition reference launched within Hublot’s Big Bang 20th Anniversary collection is crafted from the brand’s proprietary Magic Gold, which combines the lustre of 18-karat precious metal with the scratch resistance of ceramic (around five times harder than steel). This Magic Gold reference will be a 100-piece limited edition.

Hublot Big Bang Unico Water Blue Sapphire

This Hublot Big Bang Unico Water Blue Sapphire is a slight departure from the Big Bang design language, and while we’ve already covered the brand’s expertise in alloys and ceramics, this is cased in something even more special: sapphire. Milled from a single piece of synthetic sapphire crystal, the blue of this case reminds of the Big Bang MP-11 from 2024 and is reminiscent of the tropical waters that meet white sand beaches.

Measuring 44mm in diameter and 14.5mm in thickness, its skeletonised dial reveals the flyback chronograph MHUB1280 movement powering it, which serves up 72 hours of power reserve. The Hublot Big Bang Unico Water Blue Sapphire will be a limited edition of 50 pieces and has an RRP of CHF125,000.

Hublot Big Bang 20th Anniversary “Materials & High Complications” Set

Now we have arrived at the first of Hublot’s collector sets for 2025, which comes with a very serious price tag: CHF1 million. Just one 20th Anniversary “Materials & High Complications” set will ever be produced, containing five remarkable, piece unique, timepieces, and no, you can’t buy any of these watches individually.

Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Chronograph Cathedral Minute Repeater

Made with a 45mm black frosted carbon fibre, this Big Bang is 16.4mm thick to house the frankly outrageous complexity of the manually wound HUB8110 movement, which is regulated by a tourbillon and offers both a chronograph and Cathedral minute repeater function. The movement comprises 404 components and has a power reserve of 72 hours.

Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Chronograph in Water Blue Sapphire

Cased in Water Blue sapphire crystal, this piece unique is 44mm in diameter (14.4mm thick) and contains a tourbillon and a single-button chronograph. If that wasn’t enough, it’s also got a whopping 115-hour power reserve.

Hublot Big Bang Integrated Tourbillon Cathedral Minute Repeater

If you’ve not heard of texalium, it has many of the same properties as carbon fibre, but presents more variability in both colour and tightness of its fibre weave. Hublot has chosen this material for the 43mm case and bracelet of this integrated bracelet-equipped tourbillon, which also features a Cathedral minute repeater function.

Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Ceramic

This 44mm tourbillon features a bright red ceramic case that looks a treat contrasted against the black case and strap highlights, with the skeletonised dial showcasing the complexity of the movement within.

Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Sapphire

Powered by the same tourbillon movement as its red ceramic sibling, this 44mm reference features a completely transparent, polished sapphire, crystal case.

Hublot Big Bang 20th Anniversary “Master of Sapphire” Set

The other set that arrives among this year’s new watches is the Hublot Big Bang 20th Anniversary “Master of Sapphire” line-up, which features five examples of the Big Bang MECA-10 that are each cased in a different shade of sapphire crystal. In total, five sets will be produced – each of which will be individually numbered – arriving with an RRP of CHF550,000.

The colours of the various Big Bang MECA-10s include Water Blue sapphire, Deep Blue sapphire, Purple sapphire, and Neon Yellow SAXEM, and all have a diameter of 45mm with a thickness of 15.3mm. While the cases take centre stage, it’s worth noting the HUB1201 MECA-10 movement is a technical tour de force that’s loved by collectors thanks to its 10-day (240-hour) power reserve.
