What watch would you wear when youโre 300m below water, surrounded by darkness? This one.
Paneraiโs latest big bronze brilliant release is the Panerai Submersible Bronzo, which is marketed for the โmodern heroesโ, according to the company. The watchโs capability for endurance and reliability is a key selling point for Panerai โ the Italian watchmaker whose unconventional watch designs have won the hearts of many horological fanboys.
Put simply, the Submersible Bronzo is a very heavy-duty dive watch, which would be safe on the wrists of the most devoted deepsea professionals. The piece is forged in a whopping 47mm case of solid bronze, made even more masculine by the leather strap and titanium buckle (a khaki green rubber strap is also handy for deeper dives).
Panerai has opted for a brown face and bezel that reinforces a rugged yet sophisticated look alongside the bright bronze. Short, broadsword hands, a ticking seconds subdial at 9 oโclock and a date window at 3 oโclock round out the efficient style of the watch. All of this can be seen clearly in pitch black, whether youโre in the comfort of your own bed or at the bottom of the sea.
As mentioned earlier, this Panerai can go to 300m below the surface and still keep ticking. The P.9010 Manufacture calibre has a power reserve of up to three days and can be observed on the reverse via a sapphire window.
The Panerai Submersible Bronzo is available right now from the companyโs own boutiques, as well as its online store for $16,500 USD (approximately $23,300 AUD).
