The silly season is upon us once again and while it means long lunches, spritzes in the sun and the promise of impending time away from your desk, it’s also time to start sorting out your Christmas presents. If you’re really looking to celebrate a special someone in your life this Christmas (even if that’s you), there’s no better gift than a watch, and the folks at Tissot have more than a couple of quality options to tempt your fancy.
Why are watches the best gifts? It’s certainly not for their practical functions, instead, because these little machines that can be worn, adored and appreciated every day are infused with meaning.
Watches aren’t simply time-telling devices, but totems of personality, success, status and an appreciation for the finer things in life. So without further ado, let’s get into seven of Boss Hunting’s favourite watches Tissot has released recently.

Tissot PRX 40mm
The Tissot PRX collection has been one of the most revitalising forces for the Le Locle-based watchmaker in years, offering a robust and sporty timepiece that looks great from the boardroom to the beach. This specific Tissot PRX is one of the most subtly eye-catching in the catalogue, featuring a 40mm steel case and integrated bracelet that serve as the backdrop for the textured light green dial. Powered by a Swiss-made quartz movement and arriving with 100m of water resistance, there’s a hell of a lot to like about this new release from Tissot.
Tissot Telemeter 1938
The Tissot Telemeter 1938 is for the “old soul” in your life, who has an appreciation for the history of well-made things and knows good design when they see it. Inspired by a design from the rich Tissot archives, this twin-register chronograph gets the details right with Tissot’s vintage logo, a carefully executed dial and the mechanical movement within. Arriving on a brown leather strap and powered by a Valjoux A05.231 movement with 68 hours of power reserve, it’s a classy step back in time.
Tissot PRX Chronograph
While Tissot only offered time-only watches when the PRX collection was first announced, the brand quickly got to work creating its chronograph sibling. With a classic Panda-dial and rose gold-tone hands and hour markers to bring a touch of warmth to the monochromatic dial, its a seriously sporty 42mm timepiece that delivers a decent presence on the wrist thanks to its 14.5mm thickness. Beneath the two-tone dial is the Valjoux A05 chronograph caliber that features automatic winding and 60 hours of power reserve.
Tissot Everytime Quartz For The Couples
If only picking yourself up a watch this Christmas doesn’t seem right, the Tissot Everytime collection has a number of great couples watches to gift, including this verdant smoky green duo. The larger of the two features a 40mm steel case while the smaller measures in at a more modest 34mm, with both watches enjoying classic styling and a quartz movement inside. Getting a watch for Christmas is special, but a matching set with your better half is something you’ll enjoy for years to come.
Tissot PRX 35mm
Just as Tissot added a range of chronographs to the PRX collection, it also recently started offering a wider range of sizes for wrists that a 40mm example feels too large on. If you ever needed proof that bigger isn’t always better, this Tissot PRX 35mm makes an unmistakable statement on the wrist thanks to its full yellow gold-tone case, bracelet and dial. Just like it’s larger sibling, it still guarantees 100m of water resistance and is powered by a quartz caliber inside, but will certainly catch a few more eyes as you go about your day.
Tissot Chrono XL
Characters with big energy need a timepiece to match and the Tissot Chrono XL offers exactly that. Boasting a large 45mm stainless steel case with a blacked-out PVD treatment, it’s chronograph dial takes design cues from classic pilots watches including the bold Arabic numerals and impressive legibility. As far as everyday timepieces go, you could certainly do a lot worse than this.
Tissot Gentleman Open Heart
One of the best things about mechanical watchmaking is the opportunity to see the mass of cogs and springs working in harmony together, ticking away as reliably as a beating heart. The Tissot Gentleman Open Heart features a window in its dial that offers exactly that experience, serving up an uninterrupted view of the Nivachron balance spring and the components that surround it. This otherwise classically styled timepiece features a 40mm stainless steel case and bracelet, with a polished bezel that catches the eye and a sunburst blue dial that plays very nicely with the sunlight.
