- Tudor has just unveiled a blue variation of its signature Black Bay Chrono to the public, priced at $8,370.
- The watch’s worn and mechanical specs are identical to those of the standard black/white Black Bay Chrono — good news for fans of the original.
- The catch? The Black Bay Chrono Blue is only available at “select Tudor boutiques”. So do your research going in.
An offering which wasn’t well-understood when it first debuted in 2017, the Tudor Black Bay Chrono has since gone on to develop a loyal following among enthusiasts: mixing luxury diver DNA with in-house movement technology and an increasingly rare sub-10k price tag.
Last week, in the brand’s typically understated fashion, Tudor unveiled an addition to the line — the straightforwardly named Black Bay Chrono Blue.
Identical to the more archetypal ‘Reverse Panda’ Chrono in most practical respects, the big addition here is the colour blue: on the watch’s bezel and dial.

At $8,370, this new version of the Black Bay Chrono is only a trifle more expensive than Tudor’s standard monochrome chronograph, but the results — we think you’ll agree, based on the above images — are pretty fantastic.
It’s genuinely surprising that it has taken Rolex’s rock & roll sibling the best part of 7 years to add a classic blue-dial chronograph into the mix, yet many will argue — wallet in hand — that this reference was worth the wait.
A little more contemporary in how it wears than the classic panda/reverse panda, the precise shade of blue used in this Black Bay Chrono is ideal for wear all-summer-long. With denim, your favourite chambray shirt, and of course, on the water in your favourite swim trunks.
As previously mentioned, blue aluminium bezel and blue sunray dial aside, all the technical aspects of this new Black Bay Chrono are very much business as usual.
Tudor continues to employ the MT 5813 chronograph movement that was the whole catalyst of the original Black Bay Chrono; with the date window, 45-minute totaliser, and COSC certification all returning as standard.
Meanwhile, the watch’s 41mm x 14.4mm form factor continues to guarantee wearability among a wide delta of enthusiasts. Even if you’re adamant your wrists aren’t suited to anything bigger than a 39mm case, we don’t mind the slightly large-to-size build quality — especially in blue.
