Qantas is currently running a nice little points sale for Qantas Frequent Flyers, offering 30% off Qantas Points on Classic Flight Reward redemptions for domestic flights booked by January 22, 2023. Travel dates for the Qantas Points domestic deal fall between March 1, 2023 and June 30, 2023, so if you’re wanting to hop around the country off the back of your stash, now is a good time to get in some redemption bookings without burning through your account.
That being said, your points stash might be looking a little thin heading into 2023. Reportedly, Qantas Frequent Flyers spent a total of around 1.2 billion Qantas Points across two days in August last year. This was because Qantas was running a 48-hour points frenzy for Classic Reward Seats on both domestic and international flights as part of an “apology package.”
For the points frenzy, Qantas released up to 50% more Classic Reward Seats across its network, with a lot of Qantas loyalists offloading their points for flights to destinations like London, Singapore, Bangkok and Los Angeles. Apparently, one customer even shredded 1.5 million points in exchange for a round-the-world itinerary.
While there are no international routes for this current Qantas Points sale, the next few days are easily the best time to offload a few points if you’ve got a few quick trips to make around the country in the first half of the year.
Do note that the redemption seat needs to be onboard a Qantas-operated flight.
