Qantas is making the hop from Sydney to Denpasar Airport (Bali) that much more bearable by introducing a lie-flat business class option to the well-travelled route.
While the travel time between the two notably sunny cities is a relatively short six and a half hours, as anyone who’s undertaken the journey overnight will tell you — or anyone who’s boarded a homebound flight after God knows how long soaking up Bali’s culture for all it’s worth — this will undoubtedly be welcome news.
No more of this domestic recliner BS.

The upgrade to the luxurious 1-2-1 layout (designed in collaboration with Marc Newson) comes as the crimson carrier trades in the Boeing 737 for the Airbus A330 on this route; incidentally, around the same time outgoing CEO Alan Joyce is to officially be replaced by Vanessa Hudson.
According to Executive Traveller — which initially broke this story — while an exact date for the changeover to a true international-grade business class hasn’t been announced just yet, the rollout will begin in earnest sometime during late October 2023.
