Four Seasons Hotel Taipei has been announced this week, with the vaunted luxury group tapped by Yuan Lih Group to operate a property in the heart of Taiwan’s capital. The 31-storey tower, to be built directly opposite skyscraper Taipei 101, will be a particularly valuable presence for business travellers heading over to one of the most connected cities in East Asia.
And while the hotel was only announced this week, meaning it’s still years away from completion, Four Seasons should be pulling out all stops to make this one of the group’s flagships in Asia. Taipei has, according to a presser, long been a target destination for the luxury hotel group, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the new 260-room hotel will be treated with a sense of occasion.
Standing at 180 metres, it seems like Taipei’s quintessential mountain views will be playing a big part in the aesthetic. From the renders released so far, massive floor-to-ceiling windows cover the building, pulling the vista into the guest rooms, numerous dining venues – including a fine dining Chinese restaurant – and other common areas.

Amenities will include a pool bar, lobby lounge, outdoor pool, a spa and a fitness centre. Interestingly, there’ll also be an executive club lounge, a feature often omitted from modern new-build hotels, so Four Seasons loyalists should be able to unlock a level of service evoking a bit of golden-era hospitality and exclusivity.
Four Seasons Hotel Taipei will be located in the Xinyi District, opening up guests to some of Taipei’s most popular high-end shopping streets and art galleries. It’s also a strategic position for business travellers, given its arterial access to many notable offices in East Asia. And inside the hotel itself will be extensive meeting and event spaces, including a grand ballroom and a junior ballroom.
RSHP, an award-winning international architecture firm, will be heading up the design. This includes maximising wraparound city and mountain views on the highest floors and focusing on sustainability and biodiversity with local vegetation species.
Four Seasons Hotel Taipei is just a one-hour drive from Taoyuan International Airport or a 20-minute drive from Songshan Airport.
Much like other noted luxury hotel groups, the next few years are shaping up with big moves from Four Seasons. The hotel group seems to be really focusing on its drive experiences, which send guests off to explore surrounds in luxury cars with multi-day itineraries, and the brand has already announced intentions to start sailing a fleet of luxury yachts in 2025.
