There’s nothing like F1 Grand Prix weekend in Melbourne and in 2025, the race has returned to its rightful place as the season opener. If you’ve found yourself in the fortunate position of getting tickets at the last minute, the last thing you’d want is to miss the Melbourne F1 weekend because you couldn’t find a place to rest your head, so we’ve put together a list of the best Airbnbs that are still available.
Not only are these Airbnbs (somehow) still on the market, but we’ve carefully selected options within a 1km radius of the Grand Prix circuit (check out the map here) so you won’t miss a minute of the action. If that wasn’t enough, there are even a couple of options with great views of the track, so if you’ve only got tickets to qualifying, you’ll still be able to enjoy the atmosphere from the comfort of the couch.
Let’s get to it before they’re booked out.
4 Bedroom Terrace, South Melbourne
If you and seven of your mates have found yourselves with tickets to the race, this is the perfect home to base yourself at for the weekend. It’s got an immaculate rating on Airbnb, you’ll have four large bedrooms to catch a few hours of sleep, and three bathrooms (plus a powder room), as well as a well-proportioned terrace and balcony.
The only downsides are it’s not the cheapest option and it is a half-hour walk from Gate 1, but when you consider its size and the fact it’s located near South Melbourne’s shopping and dining district, it’s a no-brainer for a group.
Location: South Melbourne
Distance to Gate 1: 2km
Rating: 4.93 Stars (272 reviews)
Guests: 8
Pricing: $2,131 per night
3 Bedroom Home, South Melbourne
Another excellent option for a group is this entire house located – almost – on the shores of Albert Park Lake. Located just 1.5km from Gate 1, can sleep you and five mates, has a large living area and kitchen, three bedrooms, and a solid courtyard, making it one of the best Airbnbs in the area to book even if you weren’t there for Melbourne F1 weekend.
If the weather’s good, there’s also a gas BBQ in the courtyard and if two of your crew are Melbourne locals, they can park stress-free out the front with permits. How good.

1 Bedroom Apartment, Albert Park Lake
If it’s just yourself (or one other mate, the couch is a pullout bed) you’re looking for, this entire apartment on Albert Park Lake has prime views of Turn 11. It might be 2km from Gate 1, but it’s only 450m from Gate 9, making it one of the best-situated apartments on Airbnb right now.
If you’ve only got tickets for qualifying, you’ll be able to enjoy race day from the BBQ-equipped balcony, complete with detailed views of the race from the TV and the screaming engines from the race cars just 100m away. Plus, if you’re looking for something to do before it all kicks off, St Kilda Beach is just a 15-minute walk down the road.
Location: Albert Park Lake

1 Bedroom Apartment, Middle Park
This Art Deco apartment is the closest option to Gate 1, located on the same street just 400m away and right in the heart of Albert Park Lake.
There are plenty of pubs and shops nearby, St Kilda Beach is even closer than the Grand Prix track is, and if you’re keen to prepare a meal yourself, the kitchen is fully fitted out and even has a Smeg coffee machine. It’s only got a single bedroom, but if you’re on the hunt for yourself and aren’t worried about views of the track, this is the best option for you.
Location: Middle Park
Distance to Gate 1: 400m

1 Bedroom Apartment, Albert Park Lake
This entire apartment is another Airbnb that looks out over the Grand Prix circuit, where the best views should be enjoyed from the pool-equipped rooftop terrace of the building. If you desperately need to enter the race from Gate 1 you’ll need to do a 2.7km trek, but if Gate 5 is an option that’s just 800m away, while Gate 8 is a 1km walk from the door.
It’s a single-bedroom setup, but the living room is nicely appointed and there’s also a kitchen complete with a proper coffee machine. For those looking for an ideal solo option, this could be it.
Location: Albert Park Lake
Distance to Gate 1: 2.7km
