Wakaya Club & Spa in Fiji, known for being a bit of an under-the-radar favourite for celebrities, has just launched a buyout initiative where groups of 32 or less can book exclusive use of the entire private island resort for just under $500,000 per week.

Let’s do a bit of math here. The asking price starts from around $330,750 which works out to around $10,336 per person for the week. That’s approximately $1,476 per person, per night which isn’t too bad for an entire island in Fiji.

Framed by silky-smooth beaches harbouring rich marine life and abundant rainforests, Wakaya Island looks like a prime example of what makes Fiji such an attractive holiday destination.

Opened in 1990, the island’s resort is often referred to as one of the South Pacific’s most exclusive cradles of luxury. It’s also one of the smallest, with the island itself, located in the Lomaiviti Archipelago east of Viti Levu, just 1.5 km wide and 10 km long. While most of Wakaya is a nature reserve, the Wakaya Club & Spa seems to offer more than enough space for you and 31 of your best mates to lap up the benefits of “island time.”

The resort’s 10 free-standing waterfront cottages and all-inclusive hospitality, which includes a private chef and an entire culinary team, will be yours. This includes the Sega Na Leqa residence, which was opened earlier this year for bigger groups with a massive state-of-the-art kitchen, library and a master wing with an exercise room and private pool.

In between lazing around at the resort’s Breeze spa, which specialises in Shiatsu massage and body wraps, and tucking into Fiji’s finest cuisine, staff will be available to take groups on guided hikes around the island.

Those who prefer to take a dip can opt for snorkeling excursions and anyone looking to take a swing can either spend some time on the property’s nine-hole golf course or tennis court. And anyone wanting to get involved in the cooking side of things can either take group classes with the chef or help forage for ingredients at the property’s farm before passing them off to the culinary team.
