When you book a suite at the Waldorf Astoria, you know you’re in for a treat, no matter where you are in the world. However, if you’ve ever thought about visiting their resort in the Maldives, there’s a new 289-foot reason to lay down your credit card. This summer, the Waldorf Astoria Maldives has partnered with SuperYachtsMonaco to offer the iconic Maltese Falcon superyacht for charter.
For the first time this year, the Maltese Falcon will leave European waters in search of the warmer seas and white sands of the Maldives. The 88m sailing yacht was first launched back in 2006, and is instantly recognisable thanks to its trio masts, allowing it to hit an impressive top speed of 24 knots under sail. The Maltese Falcon can accommodate up to 12 guests and 19 crew members, also boasting an outdoor cinema, jacuzzi and, extensive wine cellar.

In a partnership that is a first for the resort, the Waldorf Astoria Maldives is offering unparalleled access to its 5-star facilities, as you enjoy the best of what the Indian Ocean has to offer on the Maltese Falcon. Included in the charter of the superyacht is access to the entire island of Ithaafushi in the South Male Atoll, where the Waldorf Astoria Maldives calls home. On the days of a charter, the island doesn’t allow day visitors, keeping the resort as empty for you and your guests as possible.
While you’ll obviously want to enjoy everything that the Maltese Falcon has to offer, the attraction of the island is particularly strong. In the resort, you’ll be able to dine at any of its 11 restaurants, as well as enjoy unlimited access to the wellness spa and dive centre.
So if you’re looking for a holiday unlike anything you’ve experienced before, blending the luxurious best of sea and sand, the Waldorf Astoria in the Maldives and the Maltese Falcon could be calling your name. The Maltese Falcon can be chartered for between €460,000 – €520,000 (AU$733,000 – AU$829,000) per week and will only be available this year.
