  • Fans of HBO’s The White Lotus season 3 can now stay at Samujana Twelve, the breathtaking villa of scheming villain Gary/Greg Hunt (portrayed by Jon Gries).
  • Listed on Airbnb, this sumptuous seven-ensuite residence delivers all the splendour one could buy with the stolen fortune of a murdered heiress like Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge).
  • Samujana Twelve served as one of two locations for Greg/Gary’s onscreen abode the other was Villa Amaravida in Phuket, which also featured impressively in the Thailand instalment.

Some places are built to impress. Others are built for escape. Samujana Twelve – the sprawling Koh Samui estate that principally served as Greg Hunt’s hideaway in The White Lotus season 3 – was built for both. And it’s yours to rent via Airbnb.

Tucked along the southern coastline, this is the kind of place that makes you wonder where it all went terribly right/wrong: seven ensuite bedrooms that can comfortably sleep up to 14, 11 bathrooms, and views so obscenely perfect, you’d only be disturbed by the danger of being outed as a murderer. Or being cucked by a pair of Southern brothers.

“Boulders form the backdrop of an elaborate alfresco kitchen and lounge at this contemporary resort villa just above tranquil Plai Laem Beach… and you’re 17 kilometres from Ko Samui Rainforest,” reads the official listing.

Inside, the house is a modernist temple to indulgence – expect a cinema room, wine cellar for those late-night confessions, as well as a games room packed with a Trackman golf simulator, darts, foosball, arcade machines and current systems, plus billiards.

Two pools, including a 25-metre infinity pool paired with sunbeds at the mid-level, stretch along the Thai property. There are five private jacuzzis for more intimate shenanigans. And if the mood to work out strikes, you’ll be comforted to learn there’s also a commercial gym, basketball court, and flood-lit tennis courts to exhaust whatever existential dread remains.

The villa offers 24-hour security, a dedicated manager, daily housekeeping, high-speed Wi-Fi, and in-house dining (full breakfast daily). Staff hover about quietly to curate your comforts, and perhaps even turn a blind eye to how socially awkward that soiree gets. Round-trip airport transfers included; chauffeur, private chef, babysitting, and spa services on hand at an extra cost.

Samujana Twelve

The White Lotus season 3 might have painted it with a satirical brush, but in the real world, the fantasy remains very much intact – it’s just waiting for someone with enough money (and maybe just enough personal tragedy) to claim it. Even if only temporarily.

A stay at Samujana Twelve, Thailand, is priced at around $45,000 for a week around this time of year ($3,200 a head if you fill the rooms). Phuket’s Villa Amaravida, on the other hand, is set from US$6,000 (AU$10,000) to as much as US$13,650 (AU$22,900) per night, depending on the season.

Worth paying to be almost completely sheltered from reality, if you ask us.
