To celebrate the long-awaited opening of the NSW-Victoria border, The Star Hotel Sydney is putting up an attractive offer for interstate visitors looking to save big bucks on premium accommodation. Dubbed the “$1 Border Buster” offer, 100 Superior King Rooms at The Star Grand Sydney will be available exclusively for bookings (from 5pm today) by diligent Victorians, for the price of a single gold coin.

The $1 bookings will only be valid for anyone with a valid Victorian ID, which must be shown at the time of check-in. Anyone looking to lock one in needs to be one of the first 100 callers through to the hotel at 5pm (AEST), via a special number which will only be revealed online once bookings open.

Anyone who secures a booking at The Star Hotel Sydney can then redeem their one-night stay anytime until 30th December 2020, which shouldn’t be a problem for anyone since Victorians should be rapidly descending upon Sydney from today and over the coming weeks.

A number of other stipulations apply, so make sure you’re across them before picking up that phone and hurrying to lock a dollar booking in. There’s a limit of one $1 room per caller and per reservation, stay dates are only available Sunday to Friday (so there’s only 15 possible days to choose from between now and 30th December), blackout dates apply, and bedding preference is not guaranteed. Notably, the offer can’t be used in conjunction with any other offers and no further discounts – including Star Club discounts – can be applied.

Though The Star Hotel Sydney booking will only set you back a measly buck, do be aware that you’ll be required to pay a $100 per night bond upon check-in.

That buck will net you a night in a Superior King Room, which is the hotel’s entry-level category and is large enough to fit in a combined bedroom and living area.

Click through to the website below and keep an eye out for that phone number reveal, dropping at 5pm.
