Tattoos, they seem either to be a very well thought out piece of art or a spontaneous (occasionally drunken) decision. If the latter appeals to you, get your self to London, quick.
If your into tattoos, it’s likely you’ll know the name Scott Campbell. The 29 year old, New York based tattoo artist has an impressive client list, having inked the likes of Marc Jacobs, Orlando Bloom and Robert Downey Jr. But his next subject? Well, whoever is brave enough to stick their arm through his Glory Hole.
Let me explain.
Scott’s latest project, based in Covent Garden, is called ‘Whole Glory’. The concept is quite simple! Walk up, stick your arm in a hole, which has Scott, armed with a tattoo gun on the other side, then pull it out with a free tattoo from a world renowned artist! But there is a catch, you don’t get any input what so ever.
When Scott was asked about the concept, he said “There is no communication and no contact other than the tattoo. It’s a chance for people to not take their physical selves so seriously, and take part in an exchange of faith that will literally change who they are for the rest of their life.”
