Smash-hit television series Money Heist (or La Casa De Papel in Spain) blew up on the international stage after being picked up by Netflix in 2017. The Spanish drama continued to wow audiences for a further two seasons, culminating in a long-awaited final fiasco. After much speculation, we can now confirm the Money Heist season 5 release date with a new trailer.
Interestingly, much like the previous season, Part 5 of Money Heist will be split into two volumes. The first will debut on September 3rd, 2021, and the second will follow three months later on December 3rd, 2021.
To recap, viewers have now seen two separate heists, each spanning across two seasons for a total of four parts. While the first heist more or less went to plan, the same can’t be said for how we left things inside the Bank of Spain at the end of season 4.
*Spoilers ahead*
Nairobi’s (Alba Flores) execution was a major riff in the closing episodes, shattering the core team and exacerbating the chaos inside the bank even further. Then came the extraction of Raquel from the authorities which saw her dramatically re-enter the bank, while the Professor was simultaneously discovered by rogue police officer Alicia Sierra.
It’s safe to say that Netflix has its hands full tieing up a bunch of loose ends come September, and we’ll have to wait and see what twists and turns the finale might throw at fans to catch them off guard.
