Insecure blokes the world over have collectively breathed a sigh of relief as Theo James, star of HBO’s The White Lotus, admits he was indeed sporting a prosthetic penis during a certain much-talked-about scene.
For those of you who aren’t up to date – but have somehow found your way into this article nonetheless – during the first episode of the ongoing season (S02E01 ‘Arrivals’), James’ character Cameron Babcock shares a borderline uncomfortable moment with Aubrey Plaza’s Harper Spiller.
In the latter’s hotel room, Cam brazenly changes into a borrowed swimsuit, exposing himself from tip to taint, and leaving very little to the imagination. What’s written off as a little strange, however, comes into play with the overarching storyline later on.

And believe it or not, the original draft of this nude scene in question was apparently “more graphic” than what we eventually received.
“So, you go into these scenes, and you have a conversation with the director, and the producers, and they go: ‘Okay, for this, we’re gonna use a prosthetic’… and you say: ‘Okay, that sounds good,'” Theo James revealed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
“I just want it not to be distracting. It needs to be Regular Joe. Because the scene, you know, it’s not about the pee-pee.”

“It’s about power play and sex. It’s about whether he did it deliberately or whether it was an accident and what that means. [Makeup head Rebecca Hickey] says, ‘I got you. Yeah, I got you. Regular Joe.'”
Clearly, Ms Hickey and a good portion of the world have very different ideas about what constitutes a Regular Joe. Because if “nine inches flaccid and four inches wide” is the standard, it’s safe to say millions of us are disappointing somebody at home.
James added: “It’s a hammer. I mean, it’s bigger than that. It’s like she stole it off a donkey in the field… The thing is ginormous.”
