For most, running across Australia and raising millions to combat homelessness would be enough of a good deed for an entire lifetime. But as we all know, Nedd Brockmann isn’t most people.
His latest feat? A casual 1,600-kilometre run completed in precisely 12 days, 13 hours, 16 minutes, and 45 seconds; along with an equally impressive tally of $2.6 million raised for homelessness charity We Are Mobilise (the biggest donation haul being yesterday’s $770,000).
“I’ve had no function of my right ant tib [tibialis anterior] since the end of day three, so I’ve been snapping dictus band rubbers [mobilising foot support] left right and centre,” Brockmann revealed via Instagram on Day 10.

“No sleep because the tendinitis everywhere punches me in the throat come rest time. The feet have swollen three sizes due to the rain/track. It’s healthy stuff.”
Through sleep deprivation and crippling injuries, Nedd Brockmann powered through an inhuman 3,760 laps of the track at Sydney Olympic Park, where he emotionally crossed the finish line in the early hours of this morning.
“I can’t wait for a shower,” he said afterwards with zero sleep in roughly 24 hours.
